What I Learned: Kiss and Make Up by Faye Robertson

Kiss and Make Up
by Faye Robertson
The Opportunity of a Lifetime…

Makeup artist Tabby Rogers is thrilled to land a job on a New Zealand movie set with lots of perks, including getting her hands on sexy Kiwi stunt man, Eli Black.

The sexual electricity zapping between them can't be denied, but neither of them is in a position to handle happily-ever-after. Eli’s jetting off to Hollywood, Tabby’s next assignment is in the UK. But there’s nothing wrong with a short-term fling, right?

Except as the sparks burn hotter and responsibilities pull at them from opposite ends of the globe, it quickly becomes clear that something’s gotta give. Must Tabby sacrifice her hard-won career for love? Or will Eli forever be the one that got away?
What I Learned:
  • is that I think I had a perma-smile on my face the entire time I was reading this.
  • is that Ms. Robertson can create wicked good characters. I loved them immensely and couldn't wait to learn more about them. They had a depth and realism that you don't always see in romance.
  • is that Ms. Robertson does a really good contemporary romance. She added the perfect amount of humour, angst, and the *happy sigh* at the end was just wonderful...
  • is that I think I have to add stunt-double onto my list of professions I want the hero to have in my romance books...
  • is that you can make anything work if you want it badly enough. Eli and Tabby both have plans and it doesn't involve love. But they make it work, by figuring out what is really important in their lives!
  • is that I definitely recommend this, and I can't wait to read more of Faye Robertson's work!
5/5
